I am off the Internet

... at least at home.

My Internet connection at home is (was) an iBurst wireless broadband connection which I bought from UQConnect UQ's captive ISP.

However UQConnect were only retailing this service, the actual wireless provider has gone into receivership. Negotiations to sell the network to someone who would keep it going have broken down and my network connection stopped working as of yesterday.

I now have $150 worth of modem and $200 worth of external aerial for a network technology with no-one in Australia uses and the delightful prospect of wading through 2 million subtly different offers in order to find a new ISP.
