The problem with technology

The problem with technology is that if it is actually any good you become very dependent on it.

Much of our orientation sessions last week was spent on the wonders of the second year web portal which gives us access to our timetables, readings, lecture slides in fact pretty much everything. It rapidly became apparent that none of us actually had access to this marvel of technology yet.

The following exchange ensued:

Head of year 1/2: I have access, if any of you desperately need access to your timetable for next week today, see me afterwards and I will plug in your PBL group and find out what you are doing.
Students: We don't know our PBL group numbers
Head of year 1/2: Why not? They have been published for a week!
Students: Where?
Head of year 1/2: On the portal... Oh...
